The total energy or the fluid flowing, through the pipe or changing cross section remains constant. The apparatus enables us to find out the total energy or fluid at different cross sections flowing in a convergent channel. The apparatus consists a test section consisting of an acrylic channel.
The water from the sump tank is passed on to the supply tank with the help of a pump, The supply tank supplies to the water to the test section and is col1cctcd in the discharge tank. The tube tappings above the channel show the change in potential energy of the fluid. The now can he adjusted with the help of gate valve connected to the discharge tank. A measuring tank is used to measure the flow of water which is mounted on the sump tank.
